Dear Fran,

I had to laugh when you say it was difficult for your boy friend to write me a letter. It couldn’t be any other reason then you tell him tales about me. Did you tell him I used to beat you up every day and twice on Sunday? I’ll write him as soon as his letter arrives, and tell him what a brat you used to be. I should be able to fill about 10 pages on that topic.

Fran, let me know if the car is alright. I expect to spend a hundred dollars to fix it up. By golly if can’t get a new car, the old one will be just as good when I get through with it. If Manny beats me home, he’ll do the same thing.

Your loving bro

Herman
