Keeping up with the Stockers.

Alice Belle Stratton was born in 1879 to Mary Tryphena Stratton, nee Goddard, and Frederick Eugene (Frederch) Stratton. Mary Goddard was born in April 1845 to Esther and Obediah W. Goddard in Royalston, Massachusetts. Esther and Obediah who married in 1842, likely chose their daughter's unusual middle name for its origin in the New Testament as "Tryphena of Rome". Tryphena which loosely translates to "dainty" in Greek, made for identifying Mary unique in ancestry records.

Frederick was born to Alice Whitney Mann and Joseph Stratton in 1847. In this 1855 census we can see record of Joseph. There is also evidence to believe that Joseph served as a Private in the Union Army during the Civil War.

Frederick and Mary married in 1874 in Worcester, Massachusetts.

In the 1930 New York Census 50 year old Alice B. Stratton is listed as the head of household for her son, Arthur aged 16, and her mother, Mary Stratton aged 85.

According to the 1900 Massachusetts Census, Alice Belle Stratton age 20 was living with Mary (55) and Frederick (52). Frederick's profession was listed as "Professor".
